- Q. Why can’t I reply in the forums? A. Only registered members can actively use and contribute to the forums.
- Q. How can I become a member? A. Click the “Become a Member” tab at the top of the home page. Fill in a Username of your choice your email address and a Nickname which will be your onsite identity. Don’t forget to click “Add Profile” at the bottom and a password will be emailed to you.
- Q. How do I change my password? A. Click “My hearts of Salford” at the top of the menu bar on the home page. Click “Profile” then click “Edit Profile” Type in your choice of password and click “Update profile” at the bottom. Nobody else even administrators can see your password.
- Q. I don’t live in Salford can I still become a member? A. Yes. Though we are based in Salford UK the Hearts of Salford website is open to people from anywhere who have a heart problem and some access to a computer.
- Q. I don’t have heart disease can I still become a member? A. If a member of your family or someone you care for has heart disease or a related health condition you can become a member.
- Q. Can you give me any help or training in using your website? A. We may be able to give you some initial help in using the Hearts of Salford website and give you guidance in securing free computer training.
- Q. Why isn't there a telephone contact number? A. The website is organised by volunteer members of the site from their homes, we do not have a central point or office.
- Q. Are there any types of posts that are prohibited here? A. We will delete any spam or commercial posts. Please do not post to sell something or involve anyone in a money-making proposition. Rude / insensitive remarks will be removed. Posts in a language other than English will also be removed, please see the "User Agreement".
- Q. Can I post a link to my own website? A. This is at the discretion of the Committee. We would welcome links to non commercial sites especially to sites with similar or complimentary aims as our own. Please email admin@heartsofsalford.net with your request and we will respond by return email as soon as possible
- Q. Why is the text/print on the website so small? A. You can adjust the size of the text/print by clicking the AAA symbols at the top right of the page. The largest A gives the largest text etc. Try them then select the one that suits you best.
- Q What do I do if I have a problem? A. If you have a problem or a question about Hearts of Salford or our website the best way to contact us is by emailing admin@heartsofsalford.net. You can also use the Feedback and Questions tab in the menu at the top of the page.
- Q. How do I put a picture/icon in my profile? A. The picture must be one that is stored on your computer usually in your pictures folder. Click "My Hearts of Salford" at the top of the red menu on the left of the page Click Profile. Click Edit Profile. Look for Icon and Click Browse. Find the picture you want to use in your pictures folder and Click on it. the picture will automatically be uploaded. To finish you must Click Update Profile. if you have any problems with this please let us know.
- Q. How can I send a message to another member? A. Click "My Hearts of Salford" at the top of the red menu on the page and Click Members. Select the members name and Click on it. In the profile that appears Click Send Message at the top right. Type in your message, you must put something in the Subject Box, anything will do. Then Click Submit Mail.
